PUCP presents “STEM para Todas 2023”, an immersion program in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics dedicated to the future leaders of Peru

The program is aimed at girls from the second to fifth grades of secondary school and will be held in 4 venues from October 17 to November 11

STEM Para Todas (STEM for Young Women), the flagship immersion program of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), is back with a new edition dedicated to Peru's talented young women. Organized by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, in collaboration with the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú and funded by the U.S. Department of State, through its Embassy in Lima, this initiative is an excellent opportunity for future leaders of the country to experience first-class learning from an early age, encouraging interest in knowledge and enhancing their different talents.

Since its creation in 2020 by past scholars of the Fulbright Commission-Peru Section, STEM Para Todas has had as its main objective the promotion of women’s participation in STEM careers, which will undoubtedly contribute to reducing the gender gap in society. For this reason, the design of this year's academic program is aimed specifically at girls from the second to fifth years of secondary school, giving them the opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The event will be held from October 17 to November 11 at four venues: Lima, Arequipa, Chiclayo and Huancayo. To participate, students must apply for the call until September 17 through www.stemparatodas2023.org.

The beneficiaries of STEM Para Todas 2023 (SPT2023) will attend masterful presentations given by prominent Peruvian and foreign scientists and engineers. In addition, they will enjoy guided visits to renowned research laboratories and interactive scientific induction workshops that will allow them to learn at first-hand about different areas and applications of STEM.

SPT2023 will be held with the participation of 200 girls in total, with an equitable distribution of 50 participants for each venue. Those chosen for the program will receive benefits, including coffee breaks, lunches and local transportation, if required, during the activities. It is important to emphasize that attendance is free and mandatory for selected female students on all days of the event.

The application for SPT2023 will be made through the online form at www.stemparatodas2023.org. The results of the call will be announced in September of this year.
